BLM seeks input for proposed Jackson Mountains wild horse and burro management plan
WINNEMUCCA, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comments to update how the agency will manage wild horses and burros in the Jackson Mountains Herd Management Area. The area includes 276,634 acres of public lands managed by BLM, as well as 7,141 acres of mixed private and other public lands. The public comment period will end March 4, 2025
“The Jackson Mountains plan will identify and set objectives for wild horses and burros and their habitat in future years” said Black Rock Field Manager, Jonah Blustain.
Comments can be emailed to BLM_NV_WDO_WHB@blm.gov (preferred), or delivered to: Jackson Mountains HMAP, BLM Winnemucca District Office, 5100 East Winnemucca Blvd., Winnemucca, NV 89445. The comment period will close March 4, 2025.
