BLM opens a public comment period for consideration of the Bald Mountain Mine proposed expansion. The Bald Mountain Mine is in northwestern White Pine County, Nevada, approximately 60 miles southeast of the city of Elko, Nevada and 60 miles northwest of Ely, Nevada. The proposed Juniper Project Amendment would add nearly 4,000 acres to the existing open-pit gold mine operation and extend the life of the mine by 11 years.
