PINEDALE, Wyo. – Thanks to an investment from the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has started work to repair public lands impacted by erosion in Wyoming near the town of LaBarge.

The half-million-dollar investment will remove a blocked, non-functioning stock pond dam and rebuild channels to bring back stream banks with numerous smaller water channels. These small channels are designed to reduce stream velocities during high runoff to prevent future erosion and reduce downstream sediment delivery into the Upper Green River. This project builds upon ongoing efforts to reduce erosion and repair wildlife habitats in the Greater LaBarge Restoration Landscape. The work is expected to be complete later this fall.
