RICHFIELD, Utah –The public is invited to comment on a draft environmental assessment (EA) prepared by the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Richfield Field Office, analyzing the potential environmental consequences associated with the development of a campground near the Saul’s Meadow Equestrian Trailhead in Sevier County. The comment period ends June 28, 2020.
The project was initially proposed by the county to provide a public campground in the area near the communities of Glenwood, Venice, Sigurd, Richfield, Annabella, Central, Monroe, Elsinore, and Joseph.
“The public has a great opportunity to review our work and help us further refine our analysis so we can provide the best outdoor recreation experience possible,” said Reggie Swenson, acting Richfield field manager. "We know there is public interest in camping in this area. Public comments will help us determine if this project will address that need the right way."
Written comments will be accepted by email until June 12, 2020. Please note that the most useful comments are specific and contain new technical or scientific information relevant to the proposed action. Comments which contain only opinions or preferences will not receive a formal response but may be considered in the BLM decision-making process. Please reference “Saul’s Meadow” when submitting comments.
Written comments may be emailed to blm_ut_rf_comments@blm.gov, or submitted through ePlanning at https://go.usa.gov/xwrNN.
