WEST VALLEY, Utah – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Salt Lake Field Office is now accepting online payment for fees associated with Knolls Off-Highway Vehicle Special Recreation Management Area (Knolls) in Tooele County, Simpson Springs Campground in Tooele County, and Little Creek Campground in Rich County. The use of Recreation.gov’s online portal will make fee compliance easier for visitors to these three sites. Starting May 8, visitors will have the option to pay recreation or camping fees online at recreation.gov, through the Recreation.gov app, or by calling the national reservation hotline at 1-877-444-6777.
The migration of payment to Recreation.gov supports Secretarial Order 3366 “Increasing Recreational Opportunities on Lands and Waters managed by US Department of the Interior” by streamlining the permitting requirements. Each pay station contains a QR code and instructions to help guide visitors to recreation.gov where they can use a credit or debit card to purchase a pass.
Visitors to Knolls can purchase the digital day pass or annual pass through the online pay portal using cellular data onsite or ahead of time. The Simpson Springs and Little Creek campgrounds will provide half of the campsites for reservation through the Recreation.gov pay portal and half of the campsites will continue to be first come first serve, payable with a fee envelope onsite.
