LAS VEGAS – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Las Vegas Field Office is seeking public comment on a proposal for a transfer of interest from the City of Las Vegas to the Opportunity Village and a change of use from a park site to a park, unemployment resource center, and an arts enrichment center with appurtenances for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. These facilities includes a storage building, loading dock, refuse enclosure, parking lot, landscaping, lighting, walkways, drainage, irrigation, utilities and ancillary improvements. The change in use would affect 16.61 acres of public land (N-93838-01) near Rome and Thom Boulevard. Public comments will be accepted until April 18.
The Notice of Realty Action for a Recreation and Public Purposes Act (R&PP) Classification was published in today’s Federal Register. Interested parties may submit written comments regarding the decision for the R&PP application and the plan of development, whether the BLM followed proper administrative procedures in reaching the decision to lease and convey under the Act, or any other factor not directly related to the suitability of the land for R&PP use.
Written comments may be mailed to the BLM Las Vegas Field Manager, 4701 N. Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89130, faxed to 702-515-5010, Attn: Kerri-Anne Thorpe, or emailed to kthorpe@blm.gov. While you can ask us in your comment to withhold your personal identifying information from public review, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
