REDDING, Calif. – After more than a quarter century in an office building on Hemsted Drive in Redding, the Bureau of Land Management Redding Field Office will be moving to new quarters at 6640 Lockheed Dr., near the Redding Airport.

The last business day in the office at 355 Hemsted Dr. will be Friday, Sept. 2.  The new office will open Tuesday, Sept. 6.  Because moving will be underway, some services may be limited during the week of Aug. 29.  Maps and campfire permits will be available.

There will be no changes in services with the move.  Maps and public land information will be available along with campfire and woodcutting permits at the new location.  Office hours will remain unchanged:  7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.  The main office phone number, (530) 224-2100, and staff extensions will not change.

The Redding Field Office oversees about 250,000 acres of public lands in Shasta, Siskiyou, Butte, Trinity and Tehama counties.  The office employs a staff of about 25.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. Our mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
