BLM offers information leading to conviction

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management is offering a cash reward for information leading to a conviction of persons responsible for vandalism in the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area.
On April 17, visitors reported vandalism of the Bridgeport footbridge, which is a popular access point to the Dominguez Canyon Wilderness. U.S. Rangers investigating the federal crime are unable to determine when the vandalism occurred. The BLM is offering a $500 reward for information leading to a conviction.
“When people vandalize public land, they are damaging property that belongs to the American people.” said Collin Ewing, Dominguez-Escalante NCA manager. “We manage public lands for the benefit of current and future generations and we take that responsibility very seriously.”
The BLM Northwest Colorado District is experiencing an increase in vandalism to public land and property.
