SALMON, Idaho – The Morgan Bar Campground administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Salmon Field Office has been reopened to the public. The campground was temporarily closed on August 8 to ensure visitor safety as the southern portion of it was being used as a mobile retardant base during wildfire suppression operations on the nearby Moose Fire.

The Morgan Bar Campground is located about 7 miles north of Salmon, Idaho on the west side of the Salmon River. To prevent wildfire or facilitate its suppression, an authorized officer may issue fire prevention orders that close entry to, or restrict uses of, designated public lands. For more information, contact the BLM Salmon Field Office at (208) 756-5400.
