The three-activity unit describes how solar facilities on public lands work, examines the tradeoffs in detail, and illuminates the factors that affect decisions about where to build solar electricity plants. The booklet is downloadable from the BLM Learning Landscapes webpage at http://www.blm.gov/education. A printed edition of the teaching guide will be available by the end of January 2016.A companion Junior Ranger publication on solar energy will also be available in the coming months. Once the teaching guide is printed, we encourage you to coordinate with your office Forms Manager to order additional copies (up to 100 per order) free of charge from the BLM Printed Materials Distribution Services at the National Operations Center. The PMDS item number is EE2-042C. Once printed copies are available, booklets can be distributed to BLM staff who work with schools within your State Office or field office.
