Sept. 27, 28: National Public Lands Day Events - Carlsbad Field Office

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Carlsbad Field Office is celebrating the 31st Annual National Public Lands Day by inviting volunteers to participate in two trash cleanup events. The first is from 7 to 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the Avalon Dam and Reservoir. The second is from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at 6 Mile Dam. Participants will receive breakfast, T-shirts, water and cleanup supplies.

Vale Bureau of Land Management lifting fire restrictions effective Sept. 21

With recent cooler, wetter weather reducing fire danger levels, Vale BLM is lifting fire restrictions as of 12:01a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. A regional OR/WA BLM Fire Prevention Order will remain in effect until October 31.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Socorro Field Office is celebrating National Public Lands Day by rehabbing a closed logging road which was utilized to provide utility task vehicle access to construct the Upper Log Canyon Wildlife Water in June 2024.
