Decision Point, located less than a mile south of U.S. Highway 87, near Loma, Montana, in the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument, was a significant stopping point for the Lewis and Clark Expedition. On June 2, 1805, the expedition arrived at the confluence of the Marias and Missouri rivers and spent several days there while deciding which river to follow west.
