Trails Center welcomes back blacksmithing demonstration and civilian pioneer camp
CASPER, Wyo. – Visit the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center August 10 and 11 for an exciting weekend featuring blacksmithing demonstrations and a civilian living history encampment.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Wyoming blacksmith Dave Osmundsen will demonstrate the ingenuity and skill of 19th century blacksmiths. Osmundsen will showcase various blacksmithing techniques by making cooking utensils and tomahawks.
Both days, the Merchant family will be back at the Trails Center to portray civilian life on the pioneer trails with a wagon, games, and music.
