BLM announces temporary maintenance closure of natural hot tubs in Hot Well Dunes Recreation Area
SAFFORD, Arizona – The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Safford Field Office will conduct necessary maintenance on the two natural hot tubs located in the Hot Well Dunes Recreation Area, approximately 26 miles southeast of Safford. The work will require a four-day closure of the hot tubs, from Aug. 19 through Aug. 22. Public access to other areas within the recreation area will remain available.
The work will include two days to drain the hot tubs and allow the drainage ditch to dry out and two days to clean out the drainage ditch to improve water flow to the hot tubs. Public safety signage will be placed near the hot tubs during the work.
