The Bureau of Land Management is temporarily setting aside roughly 5,159 acres of public lands associated with the proposed 600-megawatt Star Range Solar Project near Milford in Beaver County. This means that the lands will be withdrawn from the public land laws for two years, including location under the Mining Law, but not the Mineral Leasing Act or the Materials Act, subject to valid existing rights. During that time, the BLM will review potential environmental impacts of the proposed project.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. Our mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
