BLM to host Wyoming Mustang and Burros Days in Wheatland

WHEATLAND, Wyo.- The Bureau of Land Management’s Wild Horse and Burro program is working with Wyoming Mustang Association and Mantle Adoption and Training Facility to sponsor Wyoming Mustang and Burros Days in Wheatland on Aug. 24-25. The event is located at Rafter MD Quarter Horse Arena and Event Center 210 Sybille Creek Rd Wheatland, Wyo.

This event is offering approximately 15 wild horses and burros for adoption, eight of which are trained, and the rest untrained and eligible for Adoption Incentive Program.

Interested adopters can preview the horses and burros on Saturday and Sunday. The silent auction will begin at 9 a.m. and last until 1 p.m. on Saturday. Bids will start at $125 dollars. All untrained animals are on a first come, first served basis.

To adopt, you must be at least 18-years-old and have the necessary facilities that meet the BLM requirements. You must fill out an adoption application and get pre-approved. To learn more about the adoption requirements go to https://wildhorsesonline.blm.gov/ .
