ELY, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management Ely District Office remains open to the public while construction is underway to replace the front parking lot. Members of the public doing business with the BLM are directed to well-marked parallel parking spots located on North Industrial Way alongside the building. A temporary walkway provides access to the front door.

“We apologize for any inconvenience to the public while work is being done and look forward to the project’s completion,” said BLM Ely District Manager Robbie McAboy.

The estimated five-week project now underway is scheduled for completion in early fall. Construction includes replacing the entire storm drain system, including piping, water way collector and retention pond; and relocating and straightening the driveway, also improving drainage. Zeroscape landscaping is also being completed.

Not all, but some business can be transacted online. The district has firewood-cutting permits available for purchase online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To learn more, go to https://on.doi.gov/3HiEUsd. To purchase a permit online, go to https://forestproducts.blm.gov/
