COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) popular Blackwell Island Recreation Site is set to open for the season May 23, 2024.

High Rock Canyon Road is open for the season. High Rock Canyon is a fourteen-mile-long canyon and a great place for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and off-roading.

The Bureau of Land Management is implementing new fees for recreation sites in the King Range National Conservation Area on the North Coast, and for the Steiner Flat and Ohl Olsen campgrounds managed by the Redding Field Office, to improve access to public lands, enhance public health and safety, and better protect natural resources.
