BLM Arizona Strip District fire crews contain Black Fire off Interstate 15
Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Arizona Strip District fire crews responded to the Black Fire off the Interstate 15 Black Rock exit near mile marker 27. The fire started at approximately 10:04 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Forward progression of the fire was stopped. The fire was mapped at 77 acres. Four engines, 1 water tender, and 1 Type 3 helicopter were dispatched to the incident. The fire is 100% contained. Crews will continue to patrol the area.
